Pune: Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) clinically struck a goal in each half to put out Modern College of Arts Commerce, Science 2-0 to move into the last-16 of the Srujan Super Cup 2019 Football Tournament at the PDFA Ground, Dobarwadi.
In a Round-1, pre-quarterfinal encounter, played in demanding conditions owing to incessant rains, VIIT took time before Ayush Jain (18th minute) opened up the scoring.
At the stroke of half time VIIT led with the score of 1-0.
Switching sides VIIT doubled their advantage when Yadnik Thorat who scored in the 36th minute found the net to complete the tally.
There will be no matches on Monday, September 9 owing to heavy underfoot conditions at the ground.
