Umar strikes as Crescent wins gold

PUNE: Umar Shaikh Anwar from Crescent High School And Junior College Pune, Gultekadi defeated Abdulahad Chaus from SSPM Day School & Jr. College to win the gold medal in the boys Under-16 Below 46kg boxing event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in progress at Gen Arunkumar Vaidya Stadium, Bhavani Peth on Thursday.

Winning the bronze medals were Arya Pawar from Greenwoods School, Hadapsar and Abdulahad Chaus from SSPM Day School & Jr. College.

In the Under-16 boys below 48 kg battle, Malhar Kulkarni from Maharashtriya Mandal Smt. Indirabai R. Karandikar Pri. & Sec. School, Tilak Road defeated opponent Rohit Pawar from Aacharya Vinoba Bhave Secondary English School, Timber Market to walk home with the gold medal.
