Three months, three Ranji games and I will play for India: Ganguly

Three months, three Ranji games and I will play for India: Ganguly

Current BCCI president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who played his last match for India 12 years ago, has claimed that he can play for India again if given time of three months to train. The legendary batsman said that he needs only three months and three Ranji trophy matches to make a comeback in the Indian team. He played his last first-class match in 2011. Talking with a Bengali newspaper Sangbad Partidin for an interview, Ganguly recollected the last phase of his career.

The former captain said that if he had allowed playing for two more ODI series he would score runs. He indicated his disappointment for getting retired at Nagpur. He strongly believes that he would have also scored well in next to test series too. He firmly questioned, “You might take away the opportunity to play from me but how you will break the belief inside me?”

The legendary batsman was dropped unceremoniously from ODI despite being the top performer. He also felt unbelievable at that moment because he was one of the highest scorers of that calendar year. He showed his intense disappoint about it by saying, “No matter how good performer you are if the stage is taken away from you then what you will prove?”

Ganguly scored more than 7200 runs in 113 Test matches at an average of 42.17. He had smashed 16 centuries. In ODIs, Ganguly has scored 11,363 runs in 311 matches. This includes 22 centuries.
