Thorat scores 3 as GOG makes it to final against CMC Falcon

Pune: Prakash Thorat produced a gem of a frontline attack to find the back of netting thrice as Game Of Goal (GOG) FC defeated Association Poona Social 6-0 and stormed into the final of the 19th Guru Tegh Bahadur Football Tournament at College Of Engineering Ground here on Saturday.

GOG opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Netra Sahi sent a neat pass to Paresh Shivalkar and two minutes lates Bhunesh Pillai increased the lead when Aman Madurai set him up.

It was Thorat’s chance to take the charge as he found the net in the 30th minute and then in the 40th and 65th to completly dominate the proceedings against APS.

Sports Excel and SKF in Women’s final
Raheen Shaikh struck an hat-trick for SKF as they beat Deccan XI ‘B’ 3-0 after Sports Excel had shut out Deccan XI ‘A’ 1-0 in the first semifinal, in the Women’s Division thanks to Vaishnavi Joshi’s goal.

CMS Falcon 1, 5 (Rohil Bhokare 26th, Harshad Lunawat, Brendon Walsh, Gitrsh Mulchandani, Abhishek Bochare, Aniket More) beat Deccan XI ‘A’ 1, 4 (Ritesh Godapalli 51st, Ritwik Bhardwaj, Prashant Pardeshi, Rahul Kadlag, Ritesh Godapalli).
GOG FC 6 (Paresh Shivalkar 26th, Bhunesh Pillai 28th, Prakash Thorat 30th, 40th, 65th, Kartik Raju 60th) beat Association Poona Social 0.
Women’s Division:
Sports Excel 1 (Vaishanavi Joshi 25th) beat Deccan XI ‘A’ 0.
SKF 3 (Raheen Shaikh 11th, 13th, 29th) beat Deccan XI ‘B’ 0.
