Pune: Sujal Tapadia from Symbiosis School, Prabhat Road beat Aditya Joglekar from MS Golwalkar Guruji Vidhyalaya, Tilak Road 15-08, 13-15,15-08 in the quarterfinals of the Under-16 boys category of the badminton event of Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in progress at PDMBA Sports Complex on Saturday.
In another match, Sarvesh Houji from Dr. Kalmadi Shamrao High School, Erandwane beat Atharva Khisti from New India School, Kothrud 05-15, 15-13, 15-07 to enter the next round.
Later Laukik Tathed from Vibgyor High School, NIBM Road defeated Anish Kamath from Vidya Valley School, Susgaon with the score reading 15-11, 15-13.
Also winning was Aditya Jogalekar from Abhinava Vidyalaya English Medium School, Erandwane who defeated Akash Kapadi from Maharashtriya Mandal Smt. Indirabai R. Karandikar Pri. & Sec. School with the score reading 15-11, 16-14.
In the girls quarterfinal action, Shreya Bhosale from Aaryan’s World School, Bhilarewadi beat Riya Bhalerao from Sevasadan English Medium School, Patwardhan Baug 15-07, 15-06.
In another encounter, Siya Raskar from Sinhgad Spring Dale defeated Shreya Mehta 15-08, 15-11.
