Modern High School beat Alegaonkar High School 3-0 to clinch third place in the Under-14 tourney.
Pune: St Joseph’s High School, Khadki defeated St Patrick’s High School with the score of 3-0 to clinch the title in the Under-14 Inter-School Hockey Tournament which was played at the Balewadi Sports complex here on Wednesday.
Shivam Patil from St Joseph’s High School opened the scoring in the 5th minute to give his team the all important lead.
The second goal was scored in the 10th minute when Shalmon Patole’s shot made it to the nets of St Patrick’s thus doubling the lead for St Joseph’s.
Later Shivam Patil struck again in the 22nd minute to score his second goal of the game making it 3-0 with St Joseph’s in control of the days proceedings.
St Patrick’s tried their best to score but none of their shots made it to the nets of St Joseph’s.
In the battle for the third place, Modern High School defeated Alegaonkar High School with the scoreline of 3-0. Aniket Aagre from Modern was in good form as he scored thrice in the 3rd, 17th and 20th minutes as the Modern boys clinched the third place.
Earlier in the day, the semi-final action witnessed, St Joseph’s defeating Modern High School 1-0 with Kedar Chavan scoring the lone goal in the ninth minute.
In another semifinal encounter of the day, St Patrick’s High School defeated Alegaonkar High School 3-0.
Rohan Endalkar scored an early goal in the fifth minute to give St Patrick’s High School the lead.
Later Samarth Gaikwad scored the second goal in the 12th minute as St Patrick’s dominated the game.
Aditya Patil scored the third goal in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0 in favour of St Patrick’s High School.
