Pune: Vitthal Shirgaonkar of Maharashtra has been elected General Secretary of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India (MPFI) in the recently concluded elections.
Sunil Purnapatre has been elected President and Satyaveer Singh as Treasurer, in the elections which were overseen by retired District Judge, Shivajirao Sardesai. Digvijay Singh of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) was election observer.
The MPFI has also made preparations to field an Indian team for the first time in Asian Games, to be held in August in Jakarta, Indonesia.
