Sainath, Prasad score heavy as Infy, Maersk score contrasting wins

Sainath Shinde (59 not out-44b, 4x4, 2x6) and Bhushan Deopujari (24-21b, 1x4) made sure their team reach respectable total as Infosys posted 138 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.

PUNE: Middle order bats Sainath Shinde and Bhushan Deopujari came together in the middle when their team Infosys was struggling 38 for 3 and the two rebuild the team’s innings with a 60-run fourth-wicket stand that laid the foundation for an impressive 44-run win over KPIT in the FLAME University Corporate Cricket T20 League 2018 at the FLAME University Campus in Lavale on Sunday.

Opener Gaurav Babel (18) was out after his run-a-ball innings, but Sainath Shinde (59 not out-44b, 4x4, 2x6) and Bhushan Deopujari (24-21b, 1x4) made sure their team reach respectable total as Infosys posted 138 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.

KPIT struggled to come to terms with the challenging chase as wickets fell at regular intervals before the team foled at 94 in 18 overs.

Girkar’s all-round show prop up Maersk Prasad Girkar came good with both bat and the ball as Maersk defeated Cognizant by three runs in the second match of the day. Electing to bat, Maersk rode on the 48-run opening stand between Vaibhav Mahadik (25-20b, 4x4) and Shuvra Bhaduri (21-24b, 3x4).

Maersk posted 144 runs for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, but Cognizant fell short in the chase.

Maersk 144 for 7 in 20 overs (Vaibhav Mahadik 25 (20b, 4x4), Shuvra Bhaduri 21 (24b, 2x4), Prasad Girkar 62* (43b, 6x4, 1x6, Anan Wani 3-14, Minhaj Ali 2-19) beat Cognizant 141 for 5 in 20 overs (Minhaj Ali 25 (29b, 4x4), Prathmesh 32 (25b, 4x4), Naman Sharma 36 (29b, 4x4), Prasad Girkar 2-22, Shuvra Bhaduri 2-23).
