Sahil, Murad and Cheeti to represent India at World Finals

Pune: Sahil Jain from Delhi-NCR, Murad Talib from Mumbai and Satish Cheeti of Hyderabad braved their way on Friday through the challenging Oxford Golf Resort to win their respective handicap categories and booked their spots to represent India at the World Finals of the MercedesTrophy 2019, scheduled to be held in Stuttgart in October.

Playing at the National Finals of the 19th India edition of the tournament, Sahil in handicap Category A (3-10) won with a score of 39 points. Murad carded a score of 37 points in Category B (11-17) to book the second Stuttgart spot, while Satish playing in Category C (18-24) scored 36 points to complete the troika of India qualifiers.

Hemant Goenka from Kolkata won the Straightest Drive Lucky draw and will travel to the British Open in July and will get a chance to play the Royal Birkdale Championship course the day following the premiere golfing Major as a guest of Mercedes- Benz India.

Results:
Winners: Sahil Jain (Category A) 39 pts; Murad Talib (Category B) 37; Satish Cheeti (Category C) 36.
Runners-up: Shashidhar Koukutla Reddy (Category A) 36 pts; Umesh Nv Bhat (Category B) 32; Puja Batra (Category C) 34.
