Poona Club emerges victorious

Pune: Poona Club scored a one sided victory over Sunny XI by 63 runs to lift the title of the Late S. Balan Cup T20 Cricket Championship 2019 which was played at the Nehru Stadium ground.

Rajkamal Chauhan, was the man to watch in the final game. His excellent bowling spell changed the course of the match as he took 4 wickets in 31 runs for Poona Club which helped them to restrict Sunny XI to 97 runs. 

Batting first, Poona Club scored 160 runs for 7 wickets. Yash Nahar (47 runs) and Hrishikesh Motkar (28) gave an ideal start for Poona Club, scoring a partnership of 81 runs in 56 balls. But after the dismissal of Yash, the middle order of the Poona Club couldn’t do much.

Meanwhile Poona Club’s, Rajkamal Chauhan along with Dhanraj Pardeshi (3 wickets for 11 runs), gave an ideal start by taking wickets on regular intervals. After 45 for 4 wickets, Sunny XI, fell out for 97 runs.

Results:
Finals: Poona Club 160 for 7 in 20 Overs (Yash Nahar 47, Hrishikesh Motkar 28, Deepak D. 24, Shubham Kothari 4-11) lost to Sunny XI 97 all out in 17 Overs (Rohan Damle 44, Rajkamal Chauhan 4-31, Dhanraj Pardeshi 3-11).
Other Individual prizes:
Best Batsman: Hrishikesh Motkar (Poona Club) - 391 runs;
Best Bowler: Shubham Kothari (Sunny XI) - 11 wickets;
Man of the Series: Swapnil Kulkarni (Pilsners Cricket Club) - 166 runs and 8 wickets.
