Pari defeats state mate Saina to storm into finals

In the boys singles semifinal encounters, Mutyala Vineeth stopped the run of Adhiri Awal of Delhi with the score reading 7-6 (6), 0-6, 6-3 while Siddharth Marathe continued his giant killing act trouncing state mate Jaishnav Shinde 7-5, 6-2.

PUNE: Ninth seed Pari Chavan from Maharashtra defeated state mate Saina Deshpande 7-6 (6), 6-1, 6-3 in the semifinals of the girls category of the MSLTA-Yonex Sunrise Under-14 National Tennis Tournament being in progress at the Divisional Sports Complex, Aurangabad on Friday.

Meanwhile Kundana Bandaru of Tamil Nadu, Mutyala Vineet and Siddarth Marathe of Maharashtra also entered the finals. In the girls semifinal action, ninth seeded player Pari Chavan upset seventh seeded opponent Saina Deshpande 7-6 (6), 6-1, 6-3.

She will take on fourth seeded, Kundana Bandaru of Tamil Nadu who stopped sixth seeded Ruma Gaikaiwari 6-4, 6-2. In the girls doubles final, Kundana Bandaru of Tamil Nadu and Kashvi Shukla of Madhya Pradesh won the title outplaying Riya Sachdeva of Delhi and Nandini Dixit of Haryana 6-1,6-4. 

Meanwhile Cahir Warik of Maharashtra and Rushil Khosla of Karnataka edged out Vansh Nandal and Vitin Rathee 6-4, 3-6, 10-1.

Doubles: Final: Cahir Warik (Maha) and Rushil Khosla (Kar) bt Vansh Nandal (Har) and Vitin Rathee (Har) 6-4, 3-6, 10-1.
Girls: 
Semifinals: 9-Pari Chavan (Maha) bt Saina Deshpande (Maha) 7-6 (6), 6-1, 6-3; 4-Kundana Bandaru (TN) bt 6-Ruma Gaikaiwari (Maha) 6-4, 6-2.  
Doubles: Final: Kundana Bandaru (TN) and Kashvi Shukla (MP) bt Riya Sachdeva (Delhi) and Nandini Dixit (Har) 6-1, 6-4.
