Pant, Rayudu miss out as BCCI names WC squad

MUMBAI: The MSK Prasad led national selection panel selected the 15-man squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup taking place in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14.

There were no real surprises as the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant failed to make the cut.

MSK Prasad, the chairman of selectors said, "This team has been selected on the basis of performances over the last 18 months and we are confident that this squad is the most balanced one we could select."

THE SQUAD: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami.
