NGO Akanksha wins overall championships

PUNE: Akanksha finished with 60 points to top of the tally and win the Overall team Championships in the Pune-based not for profit making organisation Secure Giving-organized Inter NGO Sports Meet - a sports day for underprivileged children, an initiative of Concern India Foundation.

Around 400 underprivileged children in the age group between  8-14 years from 14 different NGOs in Pune participated in the event. Suprabhat and Maher finished second and third position with 23 points and 15 points respectively. 

In the final event of the day, Radhika Kumbhar, Neha Shinde, Sayali Gajarmal, Mitali Shinde of Akanksha showed their class winning the Girl’s Under-10 4x200m Relay event with a time of 1.04.90. Door Step School claimed silver with a time of 1.13.27 while Suprabhat won bronze with a time of 1.15.70. 

Akanksha also won the Boys and Girls Under-12 4x100 metre Relay event with a time of 1.03.52 and 1.13.26 respectively.
