Former Indian captain and fan-favourite MS Dhoni turns 39 today. On this occasion, West Indian all-rounder and Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Dwayne Bravo released a tribute song for his captain, titled ‘Number 7’.
CSK shared the song through their official twitter handle on Monday evening. The tweet read, “The Helicopter 7 has taken off! @DJBravo47’s tribute to #Thala @msdhoni, his brother from another mother! #HappyBirthdayDhoni #WhistlePodu”
Bravo’s tribute to Dhoni portrays the latter’s signature ‘helicopter’ shots, his story of coming from the small town of Racnchi and going on to be a cricket legend.
The song is titled ‘Number 7’ as it is Dhoni’s jersey number for the Indian Cricket Team and CSK as well.
Bravo and Dhoni have played together for CSK for many seasons. The team has lifted the IPL trophy thrice. CSK has won the IPL in 2010, 2011 and 2018. In addition to this, they have two CLT20. CSK remains the only IPL side to make it to all playoffs since the tournament’s inception in 2008. The side was however suspended for two seasons in 2016 and 2017.
It is unclear when will be the IPL due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, Dhoni’s return to the field is much anticipated as a captain for CSK team.
Apart from Bravo, several other cricketers and fans wished Dhoni on Twitter and other social media platforms.
