Pune: Mihir Kale beat Aryan Banarjee 5-3 in the first round of the boys Under-8 category during the third leg of the PMDTA-ICON Little Junior Champions Bronze Series Tennis Tournament being played at the Center For Police Reseach, Pashan here on Saturday.
In another match, Tanishq Deore beat Manonmay Shinde 5-1 while Siddharth Kondhalkar defeated Romir Satghare 5-1
to enter the next round.
Meanwhile Neel Desai, Vedant Joshi and Aarav Mulay defeated respective opponents to create upsets.
In the boys Under-8 category, Vedant Joshi upset sixth seeded Rutvij Deshpande 5-2 while Aarav Mulay upset seventh seeded Achintya Kumar 5-3.
In the other matches eighth seeded Neel Desai defeated opponent Yadnesh Wakchaure 5-3 while fourth seeded Yug
Uparikar edged out Shaurya Gadade 5-4 (7-1) to enter the second round.
