Matoshree secures win in tie-breaker

Pune: Matoshree English Medium School defeated Vibgyor School, 5-4 in the tie breaker in the second round of the Under-14 battle of the Zilla Parishad football tournament being played at the PDFA football ground in Dobarwadi on Saturday.

Shubham Yadav from Matoshree scored the first goal in the 19th minute to give his team the lead. Vibgyor scored the equaliser when Aditya Singh’s shot made it to the nets. 
The score at full time was 1-1 which led to the tie breaker. Prem Bhalerao, Chetan Mundugay, Omkar Chavan and Shubham Yadav scored for Matoshree in the tie breaker while Sahil Kumar, Swayam Shah and Parth Pingale scored for Vibgyor.

Another encounter which went into the tie breaker was when Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Lohegaon and New India School could not score till regulation time. In the tie breaker, Daksh Kamble, Atharva Nikkari, Bhavesh Chinchlikar, Sarvesh Kulkarni and Siddhesh Thange scored for Vikhe Patil while Anarva Bhalerao, Shardul Rege, Sarthak Bhosale and Sahil Shreegopikar scored for New India.

New English School, defeated City International School 1-0 to enter the third round. Manish Neman scored the lone goal for New English School in the 11th minute.

Meanwhile Delhi Public School defeated Sadhana English Medium School with the score of 8-0. Pratham Shah scored thrice in the 2nd, 21st and 22nd minute while Sahil Memon scored a brace in the 4th and 12th minute.

Samarth Nagla (17th), Kanishk Shah (18th) and Arya Yadav (24th) added one goal each.
