Lahiri regains PGA Tour card with 5th place finish at Boise

BOISE, IDAHO: Anirban Lahiri chipped and putted beautifully to card five-under 66 for a second straight bogey free round and finish Tied-fifth at the Albertson Boise Open presented by Kraft Nabisco, the penultimate event on the Korn Ferry Tour (KFT) Finals, on Sunday.

Lahiri totaled 16-under with rounds of 68, 65, 69 and 66 and finished three shots behind winner, Matthew NeSmith of the US.

It was a quick return to the world’s elite tour, as Lahiri was 174th in the regular season and needed to get back to the Korn Ferry Finals to secure one of the 25 cards on offer in the three-week series, which ends next week.

Now that his card is secure, Lahiri hopes to challenge for a victory in the final tournament, the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. He has not won since the 2015 Hero Indian Open.

If Lahiri wins the final event and tops the KFT Finals list, he will be No. 1 and will get a full exemption, including an entry into the PLAYERS Championship.
