Lahiri misses cut; Aditi puts on a strong show

Bryson DeChambeau shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 to take a two-shot lead. 

Napa, CA: Anirban Lahiri could not survive the midway cut despite two birdies in last three holes as he paid for missing a lot of fairways in the second round of the Safeway Open late on Friday. Lahiri, who has now made only one cut in three starts in the new season, shot one-under 71 after a even par 72 in the first to miss the cut by one.

Bryson DeChambeau shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 to take a two-shot lead. 

In Japan, Ajeetesh Sandhu managed to hang in with a chance of a Top-10 finish at the Panasonic Open Japan as he shot an even par 71 in the third round, while overnight leader and defending champion, Rahil Gangjee was hit by a five-over 76.

Sandhu, lying Tied-sixth after two rounds is now seven-under 206 and Tied-ninth, while Gangjee at four-under 209 is Tied-32 down from sole lead. Viraj Madappa is Tied-56th.

Aditi, Tvesa make cut in Spain

Three of the four Indian girls made the cut for the second week running as Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar and Tvesa Malik will play the weekend rounds at the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open in Sitges, near Barcelona. The only one missing out was Astha Madan (81-77).

Aditi, who has been dividing her time between European and LPGA Tours, was T-26 in France last week. She shot a bogey free four-under 67 to get to one-under 141 following her first round 73 and is now Tied-eighth.
