Kalmadi Shamrao, Loyola in final

PUNE: Dr Kalmadi Shamrao High School, Aundh, entered the final of the boys football event being played at the Dhruv Global School, Lavale, during the Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics in Pune, where they will play Loyola High School, as both semi-finals were decided by penalty shoout-outs.

In the first semi-final, Ses Gurukul, University Road, and Loyola High School played out a goalless 90 minutes of regulation time. In the penalty shoot-out, Rohan Sunar, Ishaan Dhulugade, Ranapratap Deshmukh, and Daiwik Karia all scored for Loyola to help them seal the game, while SES Gurukul were able to net in on just two occasions.

The second semi-final also saw both teams returning goalless after full-time, and Kalmadi Shamrao then edged their opponents JN Petit Technical High School, Bund Garden Road, by three goals to two in the shoot-out. 

In the girls semi-finals, the first match between Millennium National School and Amanora School, saw five goals scored within the first 23 minutes, and Millennium then held onto their 3-2 lead to make the final. 

In the second semi-final, Angel Mickey Minie School rode on Piyusha Narke’s goal in the 20th minute to register a 1-0 win over Vidya Bhavan High School & Jr College.

Loyola High School, Pashan Road bt Ses Gurukul, University Road 0-0 (4-2 penalties); Dr Kalmadi Shamrao High School, Aundh bt JN Petit Technical High School, Bund Garden Road 0-0 (3-2 penalties)
Girls semi-finals:
Millennium National School, Karvenagar bt Amanora School, Hadapsar 3-2; Angel Mickey Minie School, Hadapsar bt Vidya Bhavan High School & Jr College, Model Colony 1-0
