Kalmadi Shamarao beats Spring Dale

Pune: Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Primary School (DKSPS) edged out Sinhgad Spring Dale Public School, Vadgaon 2-1 to record their second win in the junior boys’ league of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sport (RFYS) at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) ground here on Saturday.

The win helped DKSPS remain unbeaten in Group A and improve their chances of qualifying for the knock out phase.

In a match of equals, Atharva Kadam (14th) put DKSPS ahead for a 1-0 half time lead. In the second session, Roshan S (32nd) levelled scores for the Sinhgad School. But mid-way into the second half, Saket Kulkarni (43rd) struck the match winner for DKSPS.

Army Public School, Kirkee (APS) teams had mixed luck in their league campaign with their junior boys winning, while the senior boys losing.
In the junior category, APS downed Kendriya Vidyalaya, Aundh 3-0 in a Group B encounter. Tejas Ghadge (8th), Tejas Nikam (42nd) and Aniket K (59th) helped APS to the best score of the day.

Later, Vidya Bhavan School and Junior College proved a hard nut to crack for APS as the former won 2-1 win in a senior boys encounter.
