Kadam, Shotri score hard  fought first round wins

Anuj Kadam and Sairaj Shotri were stretched to the distance before they registered first round wins in the fourth leg of PMDTA-KPIT Junior Champion series tennis tournament at the Metrocity Sports and Health Club in Kothrud on Saturday.

Pune: Anuj Kadam and Sairaj Shotri were stretched to the distance before they registered first round wins in the fourth leg of PMDTA-KPIT Junior Champion series tennis tournament at the Metrocity Sports and Health Club in Kothrud on Saturday.

Kadam edged out Vedant Manakeshwar 6-5 (7-1) in the Boy’s Under-12 event and Shotri beat Yash Atre 6-4.

Boys Under-12: Sairaj Shotri bt Yash Atre 6-4; Neev Kothari bt Vihaan Patni 6-1; Abhineet Sharma bt Vedant Chavan 6-2; Anuj Kadam bt Vedant Manakeshwar 6-5(7-1); Rajveer Padale bt Mihir Kelkar 6-0.
Boys Under-14: Dev Turkhia bt Parth Gupta 6-3; Sharang Kasalkar bt Yogit Gaitonde 6-1; Pranav Ingole bt Rushikesh Barve 6-3; Atharva Ratnoji bt Vishwajeet Sanas 6-2; Shaurya Rade bt Karan Chahal 6-0; Tanish Belgalkar bt Harshit Golwalkar 6-3.
