Infants FC storms into final beating SKF 4-3

Pune: Infants FC defended Melwin Anthony’s third minute goal that was nullified by SKF’s Abhishek Pal before this Division III match was forced into tie-breaker, in the 19th Guru Tegh Bahadur Football Tournament in progress at College Of Engineering Ground on Wednesday.

Melwin had scored on a pass from Amol Wadekar, but Abhishek equalised in the 24th minute to force shootout.

For Infants, Ilias Naidu, Amol Wadekar, S Ramaswamy and Pramod Atre scored, while Vicky Pillay missed.

Strikers FC in semis 

In-form striker Subhod Lama scored the lone goal of the match through spot-kick in the 14th minute as Strikers FC defeated Blue Stag 1-0 to storm into the semifinals.
