PUNE: Infant Jesus School defeated Vidya Valley School 4-3 in the tie-breaker during the Bishop’s Invitational Football tournament in progress at Jeejeebhoy ground here on Friday.
No goals were scored till regulation time which led to the tie-breaker. Aayush Masalkar, Siddhant Tilak, Sujal Thanekar and Atharva Chavan struck for Infant Jesus School while Yash Mokate, Aarush Biswas and Abhiram Girgaonkar scored for Vidya Valley.
In another encounter of the day, Loyola High School defeated Symbiosis School 4-2 to enter the next round. Rahul Dhobale from Loyola scored the first goal in the 4th minute.
Prabhansh Matharu scored the second in the 26th minute while Ranapratap Deshmukh scored twice in the 36th and 47th minutes.
Also registering a win was Bishop’s Co-ed School, Kalyaninagar who defeated Don Bosco School 1-0 with Aditya Daundkar scoring the lone goal in the 10th minute.
