Honda expands far and wide in 10th year

Pune: India’s top notch track racing talent in Rajv S, Mathana Kumar, Anish D Shetty and Piyush Ranjan will be on show over the weekend as Honda Motors India celebrates their 10 year of association with National Motorcycle Racing championship.

Besides adding three new categories, Honda has received entries from new geographies such as Telangana, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Ranchi, Patna and Aizawl which has help the two-wheeler major to reach far and wide.

A total of 80 racers will be seen in action at the Kari Motor Speedway this weekend as the Honda One-Make series will see three new categories racing on the CBR150R. Honda’s arsenal in the Super Sport Indian 165 (modified) category will be led by Rajiv S and Mathana Kumar.

The Pro-Stock 165 (Open) will witness four CBR 150R’s on the grid while Stock 165 (Novice) will have four racers leading the battle on the grid.
Honda’s flagship CBR 250R Team Championship will see intense competition between 20 racers spread out in four teams-Apex Racing, Ten 10 Racing, Pro Lap Racing and Rock Star Racing.

The CBR 150R category will see participation from 40 riders, who have undergone extensive racing training from Honda Ten10 Racing Academy or any other training school recognised by the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC).

And, then there are eight women riders on the Honda grid following the grand success of the first-ever full-fledged season of the Honda All Women Race. Trained at the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy, the women will be competing in the first round of the Honda exclusive women racing event.

The category will be lead by Ryhana Bee, the winner of Honda One Make All Ladies Race third round 2016 and Shruti M, the second runner-up- Honda One Make All Ladies Race 2016.

Over the years, we are delighted with the overwhelming response to Honda One Make Race and 2017 promises to take the excitement to the next level,” said Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

“Following an encouraging response from participants, and support from the motorsport fraternity, we are continuing to promote women riders with our Exclusive Women Race.”

The next round of Honda One Make Race is scheduled for July 8-10 at Madras Motor Race Track, in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai.
