Pune: Ghorpuri Young Ones needed tie-breaker to break the deadlock in beating Commandos FC 4-2 in the Senior Division match, in the 19th Guru Tegh Bahadur Football Tournament in progress at College Of Engineering Ground on Thursday.
Meanwhile, fancied Deccan XI stormed into the quarterfinal with a 2-1 win over Green Box Chetak ‘A’ in the Super Division match.
Yash Pathare (5th) opened the scoring early on before Ritwik Bhardwaj made it 2-0. Chetak scored the consolation goal through Aniket Devi in the 67th minute.
Strikers in final
Subhod Lama (18th) opened the scoring and Amit Rawat (40th) rounded off the tally as Strikers FC beat Valley Hunter 2-0 and made it to the final.
