Cyclists ride to raise funds for Kerala floods 

Pune: Cycling enthusiasts from all over the city took part in a cycling event, which was organised to raise funds for flood affected people in Kerala.

The registration fees of the tournament will be donated to Regional Sports Centre, Kochi, which is carrying out relief and rehabilitation work in Kerala. 

Around 120 riders took part in the event, which was conducted in the “Gran Fondo” format.

Gran Fondo is a cycling event format, which was started in Italy in the 1970s. It is also known as ‘Big Ride.’ It is a mass ride and a perfect platform for beginners and amateurs to get into the cycling habit. In India, Gran Fondos have been organised across Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Kochi, Jammu, Lucknow, Madurai, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Dhule.
