Chinmay crowned champ for 6th time

PUNE: Chinmay Kulkarni won the 48th edition of the Every Sunday Rapid Chess Championship. 

Chinmay came out with a strong game and defeated seasoned campainger Women International Master Aakanksha. Chinmay, who is one of the finest rapid players, with his unique attacking and uncompromising style. 

Notable performance was recorded by Keval Nirgun, who finished 4th. Keval has been repeatedly winning the prize in elite 5 group and it would be good encouragement for him for his upcoming rating tournaments.

The tournament was held in 8 round Swiss league format and the Chief arbiter was International Arbiter Rajendra Shidore.

Top winners: 1. Chinmay Kulkarni 7 points and 30 Bucholz; 2.Vedant Pimpalkhare 7 points and 29.5 Bucholz; 3. Gaurav Das 6.5 points; 4. Keval Nirgun 6 points and 28.5 Bucholz; 5. Harshal Patil 6 points and 25.5 Bucholz.
