Bishop’s Camp dominates in all categories

Pune: The Bishop’s School, Camp boys had an easy day as they registered wins in all the three age categories of the Loyola Football Cup being played at the Loyola High School football ground here on Monday.

In the Under-12 category match, The Bishop’s School, Camp defeated Vidya Bhavan High School 3-1. Vade Sarkar from Bishop’s scored the opeing goal in the 5th minute to give his team an early lead. 

The lead lasted just for 10 minutes as Aniket Gaware from Vidya Bhavan equalised in the 15th minute. Both the teams then tried their best to take the lead but could not do so in the first half as it ended with the scores reading 1-1. In the second half, Eric Arland from Bishop’s gave his team the much required lead as he scored two goals in the 24th and 27th minutes. The Bishop’s players put on a good defence as it denied Vidya Bhavan any more goals with the match ending with the score reading 3-1 in favour of the Camp outfit.

In the Under-14 clash, The Bishop’s School, Camp defeated Vidya Bhavan High School 2-1 to advance further. Bishop’s took an early lead when its player Abhishek Menon scored the first goal in the 3rd minute. Vidya Bhavan players could not find the equaliser in the first half as it ended at 1-0 in favour of Bishop’s. The second half saw Aarav Daniel from Bishop’s scoring the second goal in the 33rd minute thus making it 2-0 for Bishop’s.  Vidya Bhavan boys reduced the deficit with Kshitij Kokate scoring a goal in the 50th minute to make it 2-1 which remained final score line of the match.  

The Under-16 encounter witnessed The Bishop’s School, Camp defeating Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 3-0. Ajinkya Kale from Bishop’s scored early in the second minute. Later Alvin Abraham added two goals to the tally in the 16th and 53rd minutes as Bishop’s dominated the game.

Under-12: The Bishop’s School, Camp 3 (Vade Sarkar 5th, Eric Arland 24th,27th) bt Vidya Bhavan High School 1 (Aniket Gaware 15th).
Under-14: The Bishop’s School, Camp 2 (Abhishek Menon 3rd, Aarav Daniel 33rd) bt Vidya Bhavan High School 1 (Kshitij Kokate 50th).
Under-16: The Bishop’s School, Camp 3 (Ajinkya Kale 2nd, Alvin Abraham 16th, 53rd) bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 0.
