Back to back victories for Poona Club

Pune: Poona Club registered back to back wins over their respective opponents in the Late S. Balan Cup T20 Cricket Championship being played at Poona Club. 

Rounak Dhole-Patil scored the first ton of the tournament which helped his team register a good win.

Poona Club made it two wins out of two with a massive 145-run victory over Parab Cricket Academy to virtually cement their place in the knock-out stage.
 
Poona Club, electing to bat first, ensured they made full use of opportunity by posting 263 for 2 off 20 overs.
 
A big and vital partnership and centuries by Raunak and Hrishikesh helped Poona Club build their total. Raunak Dhole-Patil scored 119 runs in 55 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes while Hrishikesh scored 114 runs in 58 balls with 14 fours and 5 sixes. They both shared 238 runs in 107 balls for the opening partnership.

Parab Cricket Academy folded easily and could score 118 runs with Ganesh Ethape (24) and  Shantanu Panhale (19) giving the innings some shape.

Meanwhile Poona Club beat Friends CC XI, registering their second win. Hrishikesh Motkar scored 47 runs, after Friends CC XI rapped up in just 81 runs.

Friends CC XI 81 for 10 in 18 Overs (Nitesh Gundecha 26, Rohit Acharya 3-8, Omkar Akhade 3-18, Saurabh Yadav 2-23) lost to Poona Club 85 for no loss in  6.5 Overs (Hrihikesh Motkar 47, Shubham Doshi 28;
Poona Club 263 for 2 in 20 Overs (Raunak Rahul Dhole-Patil 119, Hrishikesh Motkar 114  bt Parab Cricket Academy 118 for 8 in 20 Overs (Ganesh Ethape 24, Shantanu Panhale 19, Sanchit S. 3-9, Saurabh Yadav 2-9).
