Atharva wins three gold medals

Pune: Athrava Chauhan claimed three gold medals in the youth, junior and senior category of 10m Air Rifle Championship at  the 5th West Zone shooting championship at MRA Shooting Ranges in Worli, Mumbai that concluded over the weekend.

The Gun For Glory (GFG) academy shooter, Athrava secured gold with the score of 387/400. GFG shooters had great time as 14-year-old Shrusti Somase, scored 385/400 to win silver in youth and junior category in 10m Air Rifle event.

The other winners from GFG included, Shivankur Jadhav, who claimed gold in junior category and silver in senior category of 50-meter Prone Air Rifle event.

The 13-year-old, Varidhi Goray won bronze in youth category of 10m Air Rifle event while Yash Chaudhary returned home with bronze in junior category of 25m Standard Pistol event.

“We at GFG believe in nurturing and enhancing the performance of shooters with continuous assessment at each stage of their learning and when it is combined with their hard work then winning becomes easy,” said senior coach at GFG Kiran Khandare and Shah Abdul Kayyum about the performance of their shooters in the west zone championship.

More than 500 shooters from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Dadara and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Gujarat participated in the Championship.
