Pune: Second seed Aryan Panse defeated fifth seed Adarsh Gopal 11-4, 9-11, 2-11, 11-6, 23-25, 11-5, 11-4 in the final of the Junior Boys category of the 1st Sharada District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in progress at Sharada Sports centre here on Sunday.
In the semifinals, Aryan beat third seed Shriyash Bhosale 11-7,5-11,11-9,11-8,12-10 while Adarsh put on a good show as he got past top seed Aarush Galpalli as the score read 8-11, 12-14, 11-4, 5-11, 11-7, 11-3, 12-10.
In the Junior Girls category, Pritha Vartikar beat Swapnali Narle 2-11, 11-7, 11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5 to emerge victorious.
The semifinal action witnessed Pritha Vartikar beating Preeti Gadhave 11-5, 11-8, 11-8, 13-11 while Swapnali Narle defeated Mrunmayi Raikhelkar with the score of 11-8, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
In the men’s doubles final, the pair of Neil Mulye and Upendra Mulye defeated Vaibhav Dahibhate and Deepak Kadam 9-11, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7, 11-9. In the semifinals, Neil and Upendra beat Deepesh Abhyankar and Shekhar Kale 11-7, 13-11, 12-10. Meanwhile Vaibhav and Deepak beat Suyog Patil and Prasad Burande 0-11, 13-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-2.
