PUNE: The Bishop’s School, Camp defeated Vidya Bhavan High School 3-1 in the Under-16 category of the Loyola Football Cup being played at the Loyola High School football ground here on Wednesday.
The tournament has been organised by Ex-Loyola Alumni Network (ELAN).
Akash Sriram from Bishop’s scored the first goal in the 9th minute to give his team the lead. Vidya Bhavan scored the equaliser through Aman Pillay in the 19th minute.
Akash Sriram struck immediately in the next minute making it 2-1 in favour of Bishop’s. Later Ajinkya Phadtare scored the third goal as Bishop’s walked home with a 3-1 win.
In another Under-16 encounter, Hutchings High School played out a goalless draw against JN Petit Technical High School.
In the Under-12 battle, SSPMS Boarding defeated Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 6-0 to enter the quarterfinals. Aryan Ahiwale from SSPMS was the player to watch out as he scored all the 6 goals in the 7th, 23rd, 27th, 29th, 32nd and the 35th minutes.
In the Under-14 category, SSPMS Boarding thrashed Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 8-0. Samarth Shendge opened the account for SSPMS in the 10th minute. Prathamesh Kachare scored the second goal in the 13th minute. Later Prayag Bhoi took control of the proceedings and added six goals to the tally in the 19th, 37th, 40th, 41st, 43rd and 44th minutes as the boarding boys won with ease.

Under-14: SSPMS Boarding 8 (Samarth Shendge 10th, Prathamesh Kachare 13th, Prayag Bhoi 19th, 37th, 40th, 41st, 43rd, 44th) bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 0.
Under-16: Hutchings High School 0 drew with JN Petit Technical High School 0; The Bishop’s School, Camp 3 (Akash Sriram 9th,20th, Ajinkya Phadtare 39th) bt Vidya Bhavan High School 1 (Aman Pillay 19th).
