PUNE: Abhinav Vidyalaya were stretched to the limit by Araneshwar English Medium School before winning 5-3 via tie-breaker to advance in the junior boys category of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) football tournament here on Monday.
In a tight encounter, Abhinav Vidyalaya went ahead through Yash Khairnar (21st minute) before Prathmesh Bhalke (43rd minute) levelled the scores and it remained 1-1 at regulation time.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Yash Khairnar, Aditya Kulkarni, Dhruv Sandu, Aamod Joshi scored for Abhinav Vidyalaya, while Yash Tikone, Shantanu Phadke netted for the losers.
Army Public School, Kirkee had a field day winning in the junior and senior boys sections.
