ZP’s five-day sale of SHG products takes off today
Officials said that they are expecting a heavy footfall at the event. Various self-help groups that have performed well in 2017 will be awarded at the inauguration.
PUNE: To promote entrepreneurship, officials of the Pune Zilla Parishad will be organising a five-day exhibition-cum-sale event of various products made by self-help groups (SHG) at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch near Swargate. The event will be inaugurated on Wednesday by Minister of Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Pankaja Munde.
According to information given by officials of Pune Zilla Parishad about 224 exhibition stalls selling products like pickles, clothes, spices, bamboo products, wooden toys and various other goods have been set up. Similarly there will be various food stalls for people to enjoy. Officials said that they are expecting a heavy footfall at the event. Various self-help groups that have performed well in 2017 will be awarded at the inauguration.
“The event will act as motivation for self-help groups. If their products get sold they will understand the value of their products which will boost their morale,” said an official from Zilla Parishad office. The stalls will display products from Satara, Solapur, Sangli, Kolhapur and Pune. The stalls will be open from 9 am to 10 pm from February 21 to February 25.
