PUNE: To promote ‘Home for everyone scheme’ under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) has organised a day-long conference for home buyers under the PMAY scheme.
PMRDA Chief Executive Officer Kiran Gitte said on Wednesday that developers, bankers and home buyers will come under one roof so that awareness is spread about the scheme.
“Housing under PMAY would become affordable and a separate portal for this scheme along with the forms have been made available on the PMRDA website,” added Gitte.
The PMRDA is planning to provide houses under this scheme through Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme under which the PMRDA would be giving land to developers at a low cost and PMRDA would be fixing the prices of houses in the township schemes and these prices will be declared in public.
“About 2.5 lakh homes will be available under this scheme soon,” added Gitte.
The PMRDA Chief said there are plans to build houses which would be available only on rent. “Those coming from out of Pune are facing problems of huge rent.
“Under the PPP model there is also a plan to develop houses on government land which would be given on rent,” said Gitte.
PMRDA officials said there are 67 developers providing homes under the PMAY scheme.
