Workshop on advanced trends in robotics held

Pune: A two-day workshop on ‘Advanced trends in Robotics’ was organised by Faculty of Engineering, Navsahyadri Group of Institution and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The workshop was organised by the Mechanical Department to upgrade the faculties and make participants aware of advances in robotics. 

The function was inaugurated by Prof Vivek Sangwan, a faculty at IIT Bombay.

Dr S Denise Ashok from VIT Vellore, Dr Ohol from CoEP, President of the Navsahyadri Group PN Suke, Director Sagar Suke, Principal Dr RJ Patil and HOD Mechanical Prof PS Bhokare were also present.
 
Suke said robotics and automation is an important requirement of the rapidly changing industrial practices all over the world.
 
“To nurture the advance knowledge and practices into the students, It is important to upgrade the faculties first,” he said. 

Chief guest Sangwan explored the key changes in the industrial practices with the robotics and how drastically it has increased the efficiency since its inception.

Participants were also provided training by Prof Chittaranjan Mahajan of Dolphin Laboratory on topics such as Arduino Programming, Android application development and robot development with its control programme.
