Woman cheated of Rs 47,000 on Paytm KYC

PUNE: A scamster who posed as a Paytm employee asked a woman to complete her KYC on Paytm and robbed her of  Rs 47,000. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim is a resident of Balewadi and has lodged a cheating case with Chatuhshrungi police station.

As per information shared by Chatuhshrungi police, the victim was contacted on her cell phone by an unidentified person. The scamster told her that he wanted some information about the victim for updating KYC (Know Your Customer) purpose for Paytm.

Unaware of any foul play, the victim shared her debit card information and later found that she lost Rs 47,000 from her bank account. Police Inspector Maya Devre is investigating the case further.
