PUNE: Many parts of the city witnessed winter rains on Thursday morning. Kothrud, Swargate, Aundh and Shivajinagar witnessed very light rains on Thursday. According to the India Meteorological Department, light rains are likely along with cloudy skies in the city till the end of December.
On Thursday, Pune recorded 30 degrees Celsius during the day and 21.4 degrees Celsius during the night. The minimum temperature was 10.6 degrees more than the normal temperature on Thursday.
The lowest minimum temperature across the State was 16.8 degrees Celsius on Thursday. On Thursday, very light traces of rainfall followed by cloudy skies were reported in Vidarbha, Marathwada and other parts of the State. According to the weather department, cloudy skies and rains are likely in parts of the State till month-end.
NATIONAL SCENARIO
The lowest minimum temperature recorded across plains was zero degrees Celsius at Sikar in east Rajasthan. On Friday, cold day to severe cold day condition is very likely in many pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and UP.
Severe cold is likely in isolated pockets over north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh and cold day in isolated pockets over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar on Friday.
As per the weather department, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Rajasthan on Friday.
