Water to be released from Temghar

NEW DELHI: “Officials of the Irrigation Department will be releasing water from Temghar dam to start the pending repair work of the dam.

Temghar has been under repair for the last three years and this year the storage in the dam reached above 90 per cent. Officials of the Irrigation Department said more than 90 per cent leakage has been stopped and there are minor repair works which will start once the water level in the dam reduces.

The four dams that supply water to Pune city - Panshet, Varasgaon, Temghar and Khadakwasla currently hold an overall water stock of 95.74 per cent compared to 77.89 per cent during the same period last year. As on November 14, Panshet and Varasgaon dams hold 100 per cent capacity of water, Khadakwasla has 90.4 per cent of water and Temghar 71.63 per cent. As water in Khadakwasla dam has reduced, officials will start releasing water from Temghar dam.
