Walkathon organised for WDR on Sunday

PUNE: Parisar, a city-based NGO and the Road Safety Network will organise a walkathon on the occasion of World Day of Remembrance (WDR) on November 17 near Sambhaji Park on Jangli Maharaj Road.

The victims who died in road accidents are commemorated in the presence of their families on WDR. It is an annual event that takes place across the world on the third Sunday of November every year. The online registration for this walkathon has begun.

Popular Marathi TV and film star Aaroh Velankar who promotes social causes will be the chief guest for the event.

Sandeep Gaikwad, advocacy coordinator, Parisar, said, “This walkathon has been organised by Parisar and Road Safety Network. We are expecting a large number of people to attend this event.”

The walkathon will start from Sambhaji Park on JM Road and go through FC Road, Shirole Road and return to Sambhaji Park. The distance will be covered in approximately 30 minutes.
