VPNBVM awarded ‘Certificate of Standing’ for co-ed day schools

Pune: Vidya Pratishthan’s New Bal Vikas Mandir (VPNBVM), Pimpli received the ‘Certificate of Standing’ for co-ed day schools by acquiring the second position in Baramati in the annual Education World India School Rankings (EWISR) 2017.

The event was held at The Leela Ambience, Gurgaon. KA Barawkar, the Principal, received the award from Dilip Thakore, Bangalore-based publisher and editor of Education World-The Human Development Magazine, Premchand Palety, Founder Chief Executive of C-fore, a multidisciplinary research organisation and Sangram Surve, Co-Founder and Chief Contagion Agent of Enchantico, Children’s Publishing House.

Dr Shuchi Grover, Senior Research Scientist at the SRI International Centre, USA delivered the keynote address on ‘Computational thinking in K-12 education: Vital 21st century competency’.

The survey is conducted by using 14 parameters of education excellence which are teachers’ welfare and development, competence of faculty, academic reputation, co-curricular education, sports education, life skills education and conflict management, individual attention to students, leadership and management quality, parental involvement, infrastructure provision, internationalism, special needs education, value for money and community service.

Vidya Pratishthan’s New Bal Vikas Mandir has achieved a total score of 884 points out of 1,500 based on these parameters.

Apart from national rankings, the annual EWISR also includes state, city and cross-category parameters rankings.

In the rankings for 2017, the school has secured second place in Baramati, 121st in the state and 246th  position in India.
