Two Iranian students duped of Rs 9L in fraud

An FIR has been registered with the Kondhwa police station against a man for allegedly cheating two Iranian citizens to the tune of Rs nine lakh under the pretext of helping them in getting admission for a pharmacy course. 

Pune: An FIR has been registered with the Kondhwa police station against a man for allegedly cheating two Iranian citizens to the tune of Rs nine lakh under the pretext of helping them in getting admission for a pharmacy course. 

The accused Shoib Reza Niyaz Haidar Sayyed from Mohammadwadi has been charged for offences under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
 
According to the police, the incident took place from July 2018 and came into light recently. 

The accused had promised them admission in DY Patil College and took Rs 4.5 lakh from the complainant and Rs 4.5 lakh from his friend. 

However, they did not get admission in the course following which, they filed the complaint.
