Two held for using fake airline ticket

PUNE: Alert Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Pune airport arrested a taxi driver with a fake ticket on Thursday evening. Later, a tour agent involved in the incident, was also nabbed.

A case was registered with the Vimantal Police Station by the CISF inspector. The accused were identified as Sudhir Balkrishan Shinde (40), the driver and Dilip Malusare (28), the tour agent. The incident took place at the departure gate.

As per the police, Shinde arrived with a passenger at the airport. The passenger did not pay him the fare. Later, the passenger went inside the terminal. The driver called up his owner Malusare, who provided him with a fake airline ticket.

Sources from the Pune airport said, “One of the CISF staffers was watching the driver. He was suspiciously strolling near the departure gate. At 4.50 pm, he entered the terminal building by showing a ticket on his mobile phone with his identity card. Later, he was caught by the CISF. The ticket was checked by the airline staffers, who found that the ticket was photoshopped and edited.” Shinde admitted that he got the ticket from Malusare, who runs a travel and tour service.

“Shinde told the CISF that he arrived with four passengers, including a lady. The lady did not pay the fare. While leaving the airport, he got a call from Malusare, who instructed him to recover the fare amount of Rs 4,000 from the lady. Shinde told him they had already entered the terminal building. Malusare threatened him that if he returned without the fare, he would deduct the amount from his salary. This led to the idea of the fake ticket.” A highly-placed CISF official from New Delhi told Sakal Times, “The airports across the country are on  high alert. If anyone enters with a fake ticket, they will be caught.”
