Tree plantation and beautification drive at Pune airport premises

Pune: Chairman of the Airport Development Authority, Pune, MP Anil Shirole, took part in the cleanliness drive as part of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign at the Pune airport on Thursday.

Shirole said, “Cleanliness is a must for the minds and hearts of the people to be able to extend help and support to the people in need. The importance of airport is determined by people visiting the junction to catch a flight. It is therefore very important that the environment of the airport be kept neat and clean.” In order to make available more space for the passengers, Shirole said that the green belt would be freed by keeping the parking space free.

The programme was attended by the airport and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials.

Ajay Kumar, Airport Director, also cleaned the parking area and emphasised that everyone has to take part in the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign. The other officials, including PV Mathai, SK Vayvahare, VT Mankar, Jet Airways’ Wilson Ambosta, IndiGo’s Vaibhav Poman, SK Bajpai, Deputy Commandant, CISF, Pune airport, and airlines’ staff, employees of Airport Authority of India (AAI) participated in large numbers.

“We will keep making such efforts for betterment and cleanliness of the society. CISF personnel deployed at Pune airport feel happy to make efforts to generate awareness among public for cleanliness and to clean the surrounding areas and to take part in the cleanliness drive for making the environment clean,” Bajpai said.
