Trains cancelled following continuous rain in Mumbai

Pune: Due to heavy rain in Mumbai from past few days, the life of railway passengers have been disrupted. Several express and passenger trains were cancelled or diverted to other routes. The State Government had announced a one-day holiday in Mumbai. 

Several major trains running between Pune and Mumbai including Sinhagad, Deccan Queen, Sahyadri Express, Pragati, Intercity Express were cancelled on Tuesday. 

As per information provided by Central Railway, “Mumbai is facing continuous heavy rain from past two-three days. The railway tracks are completely submerged. Mails, express and passengers trains were cancelled and diverted to other routes. This has caused trains running between Pune and Mumbai to get delayed or diverted.”

Among those trains that have been cancelled on Tuesday are Pune-Mumbai-Pune Sinhagad Express (11010/09), Pune-Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen (12124/23), Pune-Panvel-Pune Passenger (51317/18), Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai Deccan Express (11007/08), Mumbai-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express (11023), Mumbai-Solapur-Mumbai Siddheshwar Express (12115/16), Hyderabad-Mumbai Hussain Sagar Express (12702), Hyderabad-Mumbai Express (17032), Mumbai-Chennai (11041).

Diverted trains
As per the railway, several trains scheduled to depart from LTT or CSMT were diverted to Pune on Tuesday. LTT-Hubballi Express (17318), Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express (17411), LTT-Vishakapatnam Express (18520), Dadar-Chennai Express (12163), Dadar-Tirunelveli Express (11021), Mumbai-Hyderabad Express (17031) started from Pune while Mumbai-Bengaluru Udyan Express (11301) started from Daund. 

Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar Konark Express (11019) and Mumbai-Nagarcoil Express (16351) were diverted from Solapur.

However, Pune-Indore Express (22943) was scheduled to depart at 3.30 pm from Pune, was rescheduled at 12.25 am on Wednesday.
