Training of vote counting staff begins for Maval Lok Sabha seat
The election authorities have started providing training to various officers and other employees involved in the counting of votes of the Maval and Shirur Lok Sabha seats at Balewadi on Thursday, May 23.
Pimpri: The election authorities have started providing training to various officers and other employees involved in the counting of votes of the Maval and Shirur Lok Sabha seats at Balewadi on Thursday, May 23.
The counting of votes will be held at the Shree Shivchattrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi where the electronic voting machines of the two constituencies have been kept under tight security.
“For Maval constituency alone, 1,000 employees have been appointed for carrying out the counting of votes. These employees are being given training of their respective jobs in various phases. The training will continue till May 22, a day prior to the actual counting of the votes,” Kavita Dwivedi, Returning Officer for Maval parliamentary seat, said. The election administration has launched various precautionary measures anticipating the large gathering at the venue of vote counting.
There will be separate entry and exit points for polling personnel and representatives of the contestants. The traffic police authorities have made a separate parking arrangement in view of the presence of a large number of political activists at the counting sites. There will be a separate parking lot for VVIPs.
Separate parking lots have already been earmarked for the office-bearers and workers of the NCP, BJP, Shiv Sena.
There will also be a separate parking arrangement for polling personnel and representatives of the contestants.
With the counting date approaching nearer, pandals are being erected at the grounds to provide various facilities for the assembled gathering.
