Pune: As many people are all set to celebrate the 200th year of victory in the Battle of Bhima Koregaon at Perne Phata in Perne village, officials of the district collectorate department have issued diversions on the Pune-Ahmednagar road to avoid traffic chaos.
A press note issued by the district collectorate office stated that about 10 lakh people are expected to visit the Vijay Stambh (victory memorial), traffic chaos is expected in the area on
January 1, 2018.
The diversions will be applicable from 6 am to 10 pm. Heavy vehicles coming from Ahmednagar towards Pune will be diverted from Shikrapur Chakan road towards Mumbai.
Vehicles heading from Pune towards Shirur, Ahmednagar road will be diverted via Chafula road to Navhare Phata and then to Shirur and Ahmednagar.
Parking facility will be available at Koregaon Bhima market and near Perne toll plaza.
