Pune: On the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee Year, Government Polytechnic Pune, organised a state-level event, TECHNOFEST 2k18, on January 19 and 20. Around 3,500 students from all over Maharashtra participated in various technical and non-technical competitions. Amongst them, Nutan Maharashtra Polytechnic, Talegaon-Dabhade, was declared as champion while Government Polytechnic Awasari, Talegaon-Ambegaon, was declared as most enthusiastic college.
This competition was in various categories like Smart Tower, Smart Crete, Poster Making, Brainstorm, Circuit Mania, Mechtrix, Monster Arena, Fact and Furious, Hotkeys, Webber, Counterstrike, Mini Militia, Illustration, Hunger Challenge, etc.
The prizes were sponsored by various industries and an overall cash prize of the complete event was up to Rs 2 lakh. The event was inaugurated by Dr Abhay Wagh, Director, DTE, Maharashtra while Dr Yawalkar, DY Director, DTE, Maharashtra; Dr Nandanwar, Principal, Govt Polytechnic Pune; Prof RN Shikari, Vice Principal, GP Pune; along with HODs of all departments were present. Coordinator Dr Ramteke and Dr Gadhikar guided the students for organising the event.
While inaugurating the event, Wagh in his speech said, “Considering the advantage of the demographic dividend, India should move towards a developed country.” Abhijit Phadake, Director, Operation, Cummins India, distributed prizes to the winners.
