Students’ plight continues

PUNE: The plight of 360 Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) candidates continues. Now, the candidates are fearing that the case they were fighting for over a one year now will be disposed of without any judgement at Aurangabad High Court (HC), as the judge conducting the case hearing will retire soon.

As many as 360 candidates among those 377 MPSC batch 2017 candidates haven’t been able to join their training for past one year. Their results were out on May 30, 2019 and joining has been pending since August 1, 2018, as 17 women candidates from reservation category appeared for the examination through open category, which was challenged in the court.

These candidates will be able to resume their training only after the judgement. What has further added to their worries is the fact that the judge overlooking the case will soon retire.

“Justice RM Borde has been conducting the case. He will retire around mid-August. After the recent hearing, we are told that now only judgement regarding the case will be given. But till now, they haven’t given the judgement date,” said a candidate, Vijay Chobe.

In the recent hearing held on July 11, Aurangabad HC had asked the concerned advocates to submit relevant documents related to the case within six days.

According to a source, all required documents have been submitted.

The candidates have expressed concerns stating that already the case has been pending for a year now and further delay would only cause more inconvenience.

Sakal Times had reported earlier that several candidates like engineers, teachers and others among these 360 have been unemployed since a year. Many had left their previous jobs to join their designated trainings, but couldn’t do so far. While, few of the candidates have started to prepare for next MPSC examination.
