SSC results 2019 declared, pass percentage drops by over 12%
PUNE: The state recorded one of the lowest pass percentage of the decade, 77.10 in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination this year.
While the with the new syllabus and method of assessment introduced this year, the exoerts had already speculated a drop in passing, the decrease of a huge 12.31 per cent since last year, might again create an uproar amongst the students and parents. The students of class XII are already in a scuffle over the results this year.
For the first time, the internal marks for all subjects except for Mathematics and Science too had been discarded this time.
The result will be available for the SSC students to check, from 1 pm onward at

Pune division recorded a pass percentage of 82.48, which is around 10 per cent lower than that of the last year.
While Balbharti had introduced new curriculum this year, the question papers too had been tweaked into action sheets, to make them more practical-based and subjective. While most of the students, after the examinations, had asserted that the papers were quite easy, the results seem to be stating otherwise.
"The syllabus had changed this year. We had also introduced action sheets. So it might have affected the result, this time," Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Chairperson Shakuntala Kale said.
